The ACA, abortion, and immigration/asylum

Republicans don't want anything to happen to these wedge issues besides chaos.

They use these issues but couldn't really care less about them other than to keep them active and use them as a wedge.

Solutions? No way they want that.

I'm sure they would love to totally abolish all three -- immigration, abortion, and the ACA. That would be their preferred solution.

They just don't want any kind of compromise. To them, compromise is losing.

Wedge issues allow the GOP to use anger, prejudice, and ignorance to demonize their opponents.
