Jerrold Nadler: Tensions Between Special Counsel Office and DOJ Raise Questions; Mueller Testimony Inevitable
by Ken Meyer | Apr 4th, 2019, 1:48 pm
House Judiciary Committee chairman Jerrold Nadler (D-NY) said on Thursday that Robert Mueller will probably have to testify before him someday, given the special counsels reported disagreements with the Department of Justice.
All these questions would be answered by releasing the report, Nadler said to CNNs Manu Raju. I think its inevitable that Mueller is going to testify at some point, but the first thing we need is the release of the report and the documents.
When Raju double-checked to see if Nadler thinks Muellers testimony is inevitable, the congressman answered with at some point, yeah.
Nadler is referring to the reports from New York Times and Washington Post saying Muellers colleagues are unsatisfied with Attorney General Bill Barrs abridged summary of their findings. Investigators reportedly say that Barr didnt convey the full weight of what theyve said about President Donald Trump, plus they expected him to use the summary information to describe their key findings with minimal redactions.

(4,611 posts)1. Not for nothing, but what the fuck is this "at some point" shit
It took Dems a quarter of a year just to exercise their statutory right to request Trump's taxes. Now we're being told that Mueller might be testifying "someday over the rainbow."
There's nothing stopping Nadler from calling Rosenstein and Mueller on Monday and instructing Mueller to read the executive summary from his report into the record. If Mueller/Barr want to assert privilege, go to court immediately. Stop dicking around and politicking.

(51,613 posts)2. He also said they want to interview Barr at some point too.
I hope it is in this order: get the whole report, question Barr then question Mueller (that way they can catch Barr if he has been lying to them).
