If theres any justice in this world, she will think twice before traveling overseas for fear of being arrested for crimes against humanity. Her successor will surely be worse.Hard to imagine what kinds of border moves this foretells. Gotta treat those people worse. Trump thinks theyre all a bunch of criminals anyway, down to the 3-year olds, so I take it what weve seen to this point has been pussy-footing. Im sure Stephen Miller spent Sunday night giddily writing up a list. Out: Mylar blankets. In: surplus Soviet-era sandpaper bath sheets.
A while back, youll recall, Trump shut down the government for the longest period in American history (remember? Everyones forgotten!) because there was a crisis at the border that existed in his head but not in real life. But that was then. Now, there actually is a crisis at the border, as you may have read. Detentions are way up, to highs not seen in many years.
But its a crisis largely of Trumps making. Weyes, we; you and I, in whose name these hideous people are actingare spending billions of dollars separating families and keeping kids in cages, billions that could have been spent trying to fix the asylum system. Trump is, we must concede, right about thatthe asylum processing system is horrible, with a million-case backlog. But he has just made it worse. We could have been spending those billions trying to speed the process along.

(7,432 posts)and it will, too, be a cruel, heartless job. That's because Trump wants it that way. Trump sees that the key to his success is to target brown skinned immigrants as the enemy of his base. It doesn't take much effort for him because he's always had these sentiments. It fits him like a glove. But sentiments or not, Trump would still proceed in this manner because his primary sentiment is to increase his own status and power, and if he can do it on the backs of brown people, it's an easy call.
What's fascinating is that there are STILL individuals who are drawn to Trump's way of exercising power. If you are at variance with any of Trump's unconstitutional orders and expectations, you will be ridiculed and berated in plain sight until you either comply with Trump's demands, or you leave your position through resigning or getting fired. Anyone directly hired by Trump will be told to commit crimes in service to loyalty or else.

(16,079 posts)It's not so much Trump as it is that little Nazi bastard Stephen Miller! That creep has got stick up his ass, especially when it comes to Hispanics and women!
Note, Miller hasn't really been seen in public since his run in with some people, at a D.C. Mexican restaurant! Much like Gollum he hides in his office trying to find ways to keep his "precious"...keeping brown people out of the country!!
Miller has taken it upon himself to contact underlings in various offices, instead of the people who are in charge...this can be construed as a form of intimidation...and when the cabinet level secretaries try to complain to Trump, he defends what Miller is doing!!!
If someone could convince Trump that Miller is stealing his thunder and acting as if he was president, Donnie might consider him a threat and put that slime back under the rock he crawled out from under!!!

(19,066 posts)Nielsen helped throw children into cages in isolation, she cheered it and was proud of it. What amounted to torture of small children was normalized by Nielsen.
Know this, there is not an instance in history where a government tortured foreigners that didn't later torture its own citizens. In other words, they could do it to your children, and they will if we don't stop them at the ballot box.
