This morning as Stephen Miller anointed himself in the tears of immigrant children, he stared into the mirror, smiled, and whispered, "You're next, Jared. Mark my words...you're next."
The camera pulls back and we see a room in which every wall is covered in pictures of Ivanka.

(102,276 posts)At least he still has a conscience and enough integrity to call this horrifying administration out.

(4,341 posts)It is not just this administration that is corrupt, inept, evil, etc. it is the entire republican party., that should be enough to say, ok this is it, the party is not worth it anymore. One more thing, even when the republican party was not as evil as it is today, what was it that was good about it? I cannot remember. Was there anything good about that party? They have always been racists, greedy, liars, full of bull, etc...so I cannot remember what was that made people follow them in the first place.

(102,276 posts)who find any positive acknowledgment toward any non-Democrat to somehow suggest support for that individuals' complete ideology. He's smart. He's a never Trumper. He is capable of independent thought. All good things. None suggest he is other than a conservative who retains a conscience. Nor did anything I say suggest I support him personally as a trusted ally.
Under those "ground rules" my prior statement saying I admired George HW and Barbara Bush's love of their dogs as somehow suggesting I supported them and their policies.
It doesn't translate. But must we be THAT rigid?

(37,648 posts)That does not mean I support their ideology or positions on issues. By the same token, I don't support specific Democrats' positions on all issues all the time, either.
I have an ideology, so trend toward supporting those. But I don't automatically hate all opposition members, or love all other liberals.
Positions on issues is a cut and dried thing. You are either FOR health care for all, or working toward that, or you're not. It so happens that is the Democratic Party. But if a Republican were to jump on board, I'd appreciate that!

(20,219 posts)for being a conservative republican, and theres an ethical discussion going on about it in the thread.
Yet he seems to have no qualms about bashing Democrats, Hillary and the rest of the usual stuff that repukes reflexively bash, I assume.
He may be particularly witty in bashing trump, but hes still a repuke, it seems to me.

(37,160 posts)He's a conservative Republican campaign consultant. He spent his adult life using that wicked smart to press the hot buttons of Republican voters in order to paint Democrats as monsters who should never be allowed into office; to tell them any Republican was better than a Democrat.
He and every other NeverTrumper in the media built the road Trump is drag-racing on, and they did it to make an express lane for their own cars.
He's entertaining, but never forget that part.

(56,828 posts)outside of MSNBC, the media seems to ignore a lot of left leaning pundits - the Never Trumpers like Wilson, Ana Navarro and a few others seem to be able to get on the air at will.
In the fight against Trump and creeping totalitarianism, we need every ally and every vote we can get.
If and when Trump is beaten and deposed, I'll go back to hating Wilson's policies

(6,073 posts)He has even been used on this site to attack a Democratic candidate for President. Fuck him. t-Rump is just the head of the gop sore. The rest like Wilson are just festering beneath the surface.
I really enjoy the anti-Trump Republican pundits like Rick, Ana Navarro, David Frum.

John Kelly tried and failed. Stephen Miller will also fail.
Who an I forgetting? It doesn't matter, nobody will get rid of him. Kushner is the shadow "president" that nobody voted for, but we're stuck with him anyway.

(15,412 posts)this is not a criticism of the op. I'll take the support wherever we can get it and it is refreshing to see some republicans get it, at least as to Trump.
The book I liked the most? Max Boot. He got the whole Trump is just an extension of what the GOP has been doing for decades idea.

No, I did not like anything he had to say about our fallen heroine.
That said, Everything Trump Touches Dies is now out in paperback, and is supposed to be updated with new material. I can hardly wait for my library to get it.

(32,639 posts)... is that Rick Wilson is suggesting that Stephen Miller thinks he's the cause of all the firings and resignations from the White House in the last couple of years. It is sort of amazing that Miller has outlasted these other people, when it's clear to most of us that he should have been one of the first to go.
In Stephen Miller's delusional world, he'll be the last one standing after Jared gets fired or carted off to jail. Silly, I know.

(383 posts)...I took a climatology course. The first day we had to fill out a 3x5 card answering 5 questions about ourselves. One of the questions was What do you think the greatest threat to the planet is?. Many students wrote global warming or hunger or nuclear war. I boiled it down to the root of the problem and threat. I answered Republicans. This was in 2004. When my card was read in front of the class a few days later, some people laughed, some people bood. Later, my professor said to me after class (off the record of course with a wink of the eye) that he agreed with my answer and that I had indeed identified the true root cause of the planets greatest threat.

(5,155 posts)While he is a Republican, and you can take that for what it's worth, his takes on Trump are damning.
He also reveals how the Republican party has been transformed into a cult of worship, and that the primary criteria for prospective Republican candidates is their pledge of fealty to the orange king.
