I ran into the RW alternative reality yesterday

when I tweeted about the new Acting DHS head Kevin McAleenan being the guy that ordered the migrants gassed at the border...

It was accompanied by this picture below from Time in my tweet and a bunch of RWers crawled out from under their rocks to say that the picture had been debunked. (I asked if it was debunked by QAnon, Infowars or Breitbart, but never really got an answer)



I still see the article on the Time website with no corrections, so I'm pretty sure it has NOT been debunked.

They are not interested in facts. More than once I have pointed out a Trump lie, hypocracy, or harm that he has done, and my words just glide by their ears and eyes and disappear into a RW black hole. Usually I am ignored with no response. Occasionally, I get back a what-aboutism.

my sister said i didn't ask you that so we could talk about it all day. she'd be more honest to say i didn't ask you that to find out what you think about it if it's not what i think about it, or in other words I dared to think you would validate my incorrect, fox brainwashed, racist belief about this issue.

my brother is a fairly rabid racist from way back when. my sister has a couple bogeymen, financial insolvency (always ignoring that republicans are historically MUCH worse than democrats at stewardship of the economy) and of late, immigrants. i.e., did you know that germany is going broke because of migrants?


sigh. i love them but can hardly believe we're related sometimes. my sister is going through a lot of personal drama right now so i need to call her daily to make sure she's safe and well, but before this we spoke rarely. my brother and i have gone through whole years without talking to each other dating back to gw.

a complete stranger accosted a colleague and I at a hotel restaurant in Baltimore claiming it wasn't real. we weren't even talking about that but she walked up holding her phone to tell us that.

disgusting. even if it had been what in the world caused her to interrupt a conversation between 2 complete strangers to claim it?

8. RW reality cannot endure any accountability - that their actions/beliefs cause atrocity -

They must deny Sandy Hook and Parkland and claim "actors." Defending guns is tricky when children are murdered, so they MUST claim it never happened. Same with border/refugee cruelty. They have been taught to hate but cannot acknowledge their hate is causing abuses so it must be "fake."

* There really are mermaids, and he can prove it
* some other such nonsense just to see their reaction

It's beneath my dignity to tell such a whopper, but I grin when I think about it.
