Acosta: Trump "wants to take children away from their parents to have leverage on Capitol Hill"

https://www.rawstory.com/2019/04/trump-wants-use-family-separations-leverage-make-democrats-negotiate-cnn-reporter/

On Monday, President Donald Trump continued his crackdown at the Department of Homeland Security, following up his dismissal of Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen with the firing of Secret Service director Randolph “Tex” Alles.

There are signs he is about to double down on the administration’s most infamous border policies, like family separations.

As CNN reporter Jim Acosta told Wolf Blitzer on “The Situation Room,” all of this may have a chillingly cynical goal: forcing Democrats in Washington to capitulate to his policy demands.

“Getting back to this notion that the president wants to bring back family separations down at the border,” said Acosta. “Yes, he wants to do it as a deterrent, but a Trump campaign adviser just told me a few moments ago that one of the other reasons why the president wants to do it is to have leverage with Democrats when it comes to this debate over immigration, so the president apparently wants to get back to this practice of taking children away from their parents to have leverage on Capitol Hill.”

I'm guessing we'll see a month-long round of pussy-footing around "the 'H' word" before some courageous very serious person finally chokes out the word "hostage." We will then be treated to another month or so of discussion about whether we're negotiating with terrorists or not before the same very serious people decide that no, the president and his administration can't possibly be classed as terrorists just because they're taking hostages and issuing demands.

and harming federal workers for his stupid policy (aka: reelection plan)so of course he is going to do this. He will benefit in two ways...
1. Distract from the Barr Report
2. Allow his cult to taste "brown people's" blood and strengthen his support.

This sick muther needs to be stopped ASAP! We can't wait until 2020.

how separating children from families will somehow force the Dems to concede to the Trump admin over what it wants to do with immigration? The very act of separation has already been proven to be a PR nightmare for the Trumpollini's. I don't get their stategy -- makes no sense.

Pretty much the tactics of petty tyrant abusive man. This is what works in his household so it shouldn't be surprised he is trying the tactic with congress.
