Ex-Trump Official: Nielsen Thought Stephen Miller Was an 'Egomaniacal Lunatic Who Hated Brown People

https://www.mediaite.com/uncategorized/ex-trump-official-to-mag-nielsen-thought-stephen-miller-was-an-egomaniacal-lunatic-who-hated-brown-people/

Outgoing DHS Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen was in a war with Trump adviser and unofficial immigration czar Stephen Miller for months before she ultimately lost, a former senior official in the administration says. And it was an ugly war.

Writing for the Daily Beast, reporter Asawin Suebsaeng revealed on Monday that two “knowledgeable sources” say that the ongoing combat between Nielsen and Miller was so intense that they “could barely be in the same room without making other top officials uncomfortable.”

Suebsaeng cites “a former senior Trump administration official who has been in the room with both [Nielsen and Miller] numerous times” to relate the absolute juiciest description you’ll read this week.

“Miller thought Nielsen was a soft-on-the-border Bushy and she thought he was a egomaniacal lunatic who hated brown people. Needless to say, that made for awkward moments in the Oval [Office] and Cabinet Room,” the official said.

Daily Beast article here:

https://www.thedailybeast.com/kirstjen-nielsens-ouster-strengthens-stephen-millers-grip-on-president-trumps-immigration-policy

with more on Miller -- and on Lou Dobbs:

Since the dawn of the Trump era, Miller has been a skilled but generally quiet knife fighter and operator behind the scenes, outlasting or outmaneuvering other senior officials, keeping on the president’s good side, and, as a result, expanding his reach of influence.

By mid-2017, Miller had elbowed his way deep into national security and foreign affairs deliberations, and used his clout to advocate dropping the cap on refugee admissions last year to a record low.

Those who know and have worked with Miller say he is shrewd in not infuriating Trump, knowing that too much of the limelight in Trumpworld can be fatal. He watched with a careful eye as Steve Bannon, Trump’s former chief strategist, rose within Trump’s ranks only to be sidelined after “President Bannon” storylines hyped his power and sway over the presidency.

Sensing Bannon’s demise was near, Miller turned on his former ally and trashed him to Trump, hastening Bannon’s exit from the West Wing.

With Nielsen, there’s even less love lost. But the internal antipathy aimed at Nielsen certainly didn’t end with Miller and the president. The sources noted how other senior aides, including Trump’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner, didn’t have Nielsen’s back, either.

She had also run afoul of one of Trump’s principal outside counselors, Fox Business host and immigration hardliner Lou Dobbs, who had repeatedly counseled Trump to ditch Nielsen in recent months, according to a person with knowledge of their private discussions.

Late last month, the Fox Business star dedicated part of his show to calling for the riddance of the “flailing” and “overwhelmed” DHS secretary.

It was the same mix of public and private pressure Dobbs used to urge Trump to can Jeff Sessions, the former attorney general who the president routinely denigrated as a failure, personally annoying, and mentally “retarded.”

Weren't you the one helping lock brown children in cages?

“Sir, they are not cages, they are areas of the border facility that are carved out for the safety and protection of those who remain there while they’re being processed,” Nielsen said during an exchange with House Homeland Security Committee Chair Bennie Thompson (D-MS).

snip

“Does it differ from the cages you put your dogs in when you let them stay outside?” Watson Coleman asked.

“Yes ... it’s larger, it has facilities, it provides room to sit, to stand, to lay down —”

“So does my dog’s cage,” Watson Coleman interjected

However before this wretched administration having a cabinet secretary position enabled one to spend the rest of their life at a University or Corporate Boardroom.

Is there any University or Corporation that is willing to take on the controversy she will bring? For what end to her personally? She is largely unemployable, her old boss is trashing her for not breaking the law on her behalf, and if she is recognized in public she will have scorn.

She cannot even look into a career in republican politics because he took a giant shit on her when he fired her.

I cannot imagine there is any reasonable person in this country left that would take a job in this administration.

She behaved with depravity and cruelty. She is no different than the Nazi guards who took babies from their mothers at Bergen Belsen. I hope she is shunned every day of her life. She is an evil person.
