It always seems like Trump and the Repugs are one step ahead of the Dems and they shut down every attempt the Dems make to do their required oversight.

I'm sure if the shoe was on the other foot - the Repugs wouldn't just sit back and deal with this. They would put on a full court press on the offense.

Honestly...to me that's the crux of it.
Dems are repsectful of the laws, the constitution etc, and the reupugs don't give a flying shit. They will lie, cheat, steal, anything to get what THEY want, regardless of the country, their constituents of anything else.

If this refers to the Mueller report, for example, the perps (Republicans, in this case) know what they did, and set about covering it up immediately. Democrats had to try to first discover what crimes had been committed, of course, and then gain the power to go after them (as of Jan. 3, 2019, e.g.). So of course, we're playing catch-up.

As with Nixon, this in no way means we won't. It's just more work and takes longer, that's all.
