People in the know help me here please. Could the House start impeachment proceedings just

For the purpose of getting the Mueller report and tRUMPS taxes? Then delay the process until a closer to election time? I read somewhere that if impeachment was started by the house THESE documents would have to be provided without delay. Is this wrong? TY in advance.

Nancy could say she was forced to do it to uncover the evidence needed to determine whether or not there is a case for impeachment.

If the House moves to impeach it will get the grand jury testimony. I don't know about the taxes, the House should get those according to what the law says, but who are Republicans to follow the law?

This is a completely lawless administration.

IMHO, we're no more likely to get Justice to hand over the unredacted Mueller report by initiating impeachment proceedings ... than we are if we didn't.

Barr's playing a game of 'chicken' and just hopes the Dems will impeach, cause he knows the Senate won't convict, and he also has no intention of handing over the report even if they DID.

And they've fast-tracked enough Trumpist judges that they're likely to get away with it. In fact, they've actually shown, in a number of cases, that they're not even going to follow what a Judge orders them to do.

They don't care about the law, and will simply refuse to disclose anything they don't want to.

I think he's full of shit.

He's trying to get Dems to humiliate themselves with a failed impeachment attempt, given the Senate make-up.

And he still wouldn't hand them over if Dems did impeach.

It's a sucker-play.

The latest rule change just put the inevitable confirmations on the fast track by cutting debate time down from 30 hours to 2 hours on all nominees except Cabinent level, SCOTUS, or Appeals court nominees.

For one thing, Trump needs to join those select few presidents admitted to the impeachment club. I look forward to every write-up about him in history books including the fact that he qualified to have "impeached" forever attached to his name. As we have read, Jr. is expressing interest in running for an office. I think Trump-impeached might dampen a lot of interest in people supporting another clown act.

I also think that if the house can get the Mueller information out to the public, devastation will ensue for Trump. Even if the Senate acquits, all that information can be used to destroy a second candidacy and taint his reputation.

I doubt a conviction is necessary for the impeachment to be effective.

I know Pelosi is thinking about political ramifications. I think it's likely that having facts could well make us stronger in 2020. I'm glad the chairpersons are getting more forceful in expecting results from the dark side.

It is almost like Barr wants Dems to impeach to get the report. I have to stop and ask why that is.

Impeaching as a tool to get that info seems like a BAD idea to me. Exhaust all other efforts to get the report and use their refusal to campaign against them.

I don’t think we will ever see that report or his taxes before 2020. And only if we win.
