give us a clue as to how awful a person can be and still be elected. Bibi really pushes his connection to Trump.

Which means people will accept corruption, war and racism in the name of security.

Which is something Democrats need to think about. We can't win by running against Trump or going through a failed impeachment.

Trump painting border control as a major security issue is an effective strategy for him. We are fortunate in that Trump is incompetent. But we have to seize the opportunity. We can win with real policies including on humane, effective immigration control.

One is that Trump will goad us into running against him and/or convince the media that's what we are doing.

Two is that we do not have an effective and clear immigration policy. We are not for a wall, but what are we for? I say we need mandatory e-verify and visa tracking. Also stiff penalties and strict enforcement for businesses that hire illegals. This will put Trump in a tough bind because it helps solve the illegal immigration problem but puts a regulatory burden on businesses.

Trump made immigration an issue and beat 16 other Republicans and 1 Democrat who didn't think it was much of an issue.

Like or not, it's an issue now. That's not letting Trump set the narrative. Letting him set the narrative can only happen if you don't respond to the real concerns once an issue has been raised.

Blue and White won more seats than Likud, but their coalitions are about even. Israeli governments are always coalitions.

If he loses maybe some peace will prevail. But in today’s world of boiling hatred of the other, who will dare do the hard work of making peace? Especially when no one can count on the US to be a peace broker.

"Jewish American groups criticized President Donald Trump for calling Israeli leader Benjamin Netanyahu "your prime minister" during an address Saturday to the Republican Jewish Coalition.

"I stood with your prime minister at the White Hous to recognize Israeli sovereignty over the Golan Heights," he told the audience at the RJC's Annual Leadership conference in Las Vegas.

Some said that Trump's conflation of American Jews with Israelis played into old anti-Semitic tropes about divided loyalties.

"Mr. President, the Prime Minister of Israel is the leader of his (or her) country, not ours. Statements to the contrary, from staunch friends or harsh critics, feed bigotry," the American Jewish Committee said in a response to Trump's remark that was posted on Twitter.

"Mr. President, words matter. As with all elected officials, its critical for you to avoid language that leads people to believe Jews aren’t loyal Americans," tweeted Anti-Defamation League CEO Jonathan Greenblatt. ".....(more)
