People who hate other skin colors are called Racists
People who hate other genders are called Sexists
Why do haters of gays get off sounding like they are scared of the big bag gay?
There needs to be a new, more descriptive term.

3. I dont think they fear anything except change. There's a big difference between fear and hate

When homophobes dont want gays to have the same rights as everyone else it's not cause they are scared of gays, it's cause they dont like them or their lifestyle.

Homophobe is just too polite of a term for someone who hates another group of people. I find Fear to be passive while Hate is more aggressive. A homophobe might avoid Fantasy Fest in Key West because they are scared of the gays, but there's no fear in the head of the Westboro types who hate and the LDS who spent millions to keep them from being able to marry. That's mean-spirited hate.

Pronounced (perhaps): mi-SHOM-oysts or mis-HO-mo-ists.

I too think that the "fear" suffix is not quite right.
