First that he walked on the moon...

and then when he gets done laughing... that sadly he is dead.

Great Monty Python sketch in there somewhere.

Back to his coke days.... (love me some Neil Young, don't get me wrong, but if you ever saw him perform in THE LAST WALTZ, you'd know to what I refer)

I don't think that's what those lyrics meant, NBC.

Shame really.

I'm not terribly surprised he beat the space program to the Moon, though. He would have been about 20 at the time and into some really good shit.

Due to downsizing, no one is going to hire additional copy editors and proofreaders, especially for weekend work.

One time I read a New York Times movie review and I found this sentence:

"She is the queen and she is loosing."

I spent a year teaching writing to college freshmen and every single one of them made that mistake. (Also "breath" instead of "breathe.&quot This is the stuff spellcheck cannot fix. You need a human, dammit.

We go over proofreading on the first day of class.

I tell them they have access to two spell checks: the one in the computer and the one in their head. If they are unsure of the spelling of a word, LOOK IT UP IN THE DICTIONARY!!!!

Lose/loose is discussed as well.
