I just read a headline from Huff Post: House Republicans Are Upset Democrats Are Investigating Voter Suppression Allegations
It struck me how often weve seen the phrase Republicans are upset especially over the past two years.
It also struck me that the Republicans always seem to be upset about anything that benefits the citizenry and gives it a voice.
Republicans are upset when more people can vote, when more people have access to healthcare, and when more people can earn a living wage.
Republicans are upset when women claim dominion over their own bodies, when transsexuals can use public bathrooms, and when programs that feed the hungry and shelter the homeless get funding.
But at the same time, Republicans never get upset about a pResident who has told over 9,000 lies, grovels before Puttin and takes his side over our own countrys, is a racist who incites violence, is a self-proclaimed pussy-grabber, and is under investigation for a myriad of crimes.
Republicans never get upset about children locked in cages, non-existent national emergencies, or a pResident so unhinged hes proudly announced that the noise of wind turbines causes cancer, and his Bronx-born father was born in Germany.
Republicans never, ever get upset about tax-breaks for billionaires, kids doing without a good education, incompetent toadies being appointed to powerful positions, trusted advisors to their pResident being indicted, homeless vets, people having to work two jobs in order to get by, and easy access to assault weapons.
When you look at what Republicans get upset about and what they dont, it really tells you everything you need to know.

(61,703 posts)I like your OP and appreciate your points, but the term "transsexual" is no longer used by advocates. Would you update your OP? Thanks, Nance!

(493 posts)🍄rump had five children by three women, two of them immigrants, was having sex with a porn star while his wife recovered from childbirth, talked about grabbing womens genitalia, went bankrupt, didnt pay people who worked for him, lied and cheated? Well, we wouldnt have decided to elect him. . We would have said that he was not worthy of the office.
I have lived under many presidents going back to Truman, Dwight Eisenhower, John F. Kennedy, Lyndon Johnson, Richard Nixon, Gerald Ford, Jimmy Carter, Ronald Reagan, George H. W, Bush, Bill Clinton, George W, Bush, Barack Obama and now, sadly, Donald Trump. Trump is the absolute bottom of the pit. He is the most arrogant, incompetent, narcissistic, immoral piece of CHIT that ever was in the role of president.
I thought Bush W was the absolute worst president, certainly of my life time and one of the worst of all time. 🍄rump makes Nixon look trustworthy and George W look smart.
A fool is proud of what a smart person is ashamed of.

(14,587 posts)They only get upset when they think someone who is old, poor, sick or different might in some small way benefit from a policy.
That bugs the shit out of 'em.

(2,331 posts)I wouldn't necessarily accept any of it but I would listen to their point of view to see if there was any areas of mutual understanding.
After the way they behaved with President Obama around 2011 and the way they are behaving with Trump if someone tells me they are republican I politely move the conversation off of politics. I don't really give a shit what they have to say and I'm not listening.
