That she now hates Trump, cant stand the sound of his voice and would be happy if he dropped dead!

(10,565 posts)She didnt like Hillary. Our family has always voted Democratic and we were all shocked. My daughter wouldnt talk to her- I convinced her she would come home. She knows she made a mistake and has owned it. She is a really good person. Im so glad shes back!

(12,814 posts)I mean, I guess I can understand if your sister was somehow turned-off by Hillary calling fellow Americans "deplorable," but still... how would that turn her away from democratic ideals and make her ignore Trump's way-too-obvious failings?

(4,305 posts)It is from an Old version of the French word "pleurer," which means "to weep." It means that what they do is enough to make you weep over them.

(8,000 posts)and since you say your sister is a wonderful person, I doubt she fell into the deplorable category or would be the type to defend the deplorables.
I'm happy she's back!

I havent seen any details on what opened her eyes Re: Trump. How has she owned it? Whats she doing to begin to try to balance out her mistake?

Says he recognizes he made a mistake. I just hope there are about 10 million of these in the mid west.
WA state here, so a few Trumpers is not a big deal. We're blue in the presidential and our SoS is pretty up on election issues, and for a Repub she seems to want to actually do her job and help people vote. Go figure.

(6,974 posts)Also hate him now. Other friends tRump-loving family members/friends/co-workers also distrust to hate the fat pig, post 2016's RIGGED for him elections.
It took those 4 jobs between them having Ohioans paying much higher health premiums, owing thousands in taxes (They had gotten as much as $4,000 back under Pres. Obama all 8 years) and ZERO mortgage deductions to see the light
By the way, their tax guy told him/wifey that they'll be owing as much or more in taxes next year because they'll be losing more deductions due to fatso's for-the-rich tax code heading into next year

Only the worst of the brainwashed and amoral types can accept his massive pack of lies without remorse.....
I comprehend (but despise) the politicians that remain silent because they reap handsome but corrupt rewards, but there is no excuse for members of the clergy that still support tRump......

(11,686 posts)I hope she also understands that voting for any Republican now is just like voting for trump again. Also voting 3rd party gives him strength.
Sometimes the hardest thing to do when one makes a mistake is to recognize what it was in order to not do it again.
