We will hemorrhage voters.
I submit we already are.

(12,814 posts)When Republicans hold the reins of power, they get away with acting like Republicans.
And when Democrats hold the reins... Republicans still get away with acting like Republicans.
So no matter who's in power, Republican bullshit is the result.

(25,471 posts)We made progress in 2018 by running issues-based campaigns, not by freaking out about Trump 24/7. We need to continue that strategy to be successful, not constantly scream about how weak Democrats are. Besides, it's bullshit.

(12,814 posts)... of the strongly-worded letters, concerned speeches, and (empty-so-far) threats. I understand the whole Congressional due process thing, but geeze. A cop doesn't even give this many warnings to a speeder. Why do colluders, obstructionists, and treason-weasels get a better shake than someone driving 50 in a 45 zone?

at play here for gods sake. Can you wait with all this until at least after the report is released?
It sounds very hyperbolic.

(25,471 posts)Meanwhile, there's zero evidence that we're hemorrhaging voters. The vast majority of people have already made up their minds about Trump, pros and cons, and the results of the Mueller investigation, barring a complete bombshell, isn't going to sway many people one way or the other.
Meanwhile, there are myriad other investigations re: Trump ongoing:

The electorate at large also doesn't fixate on the minutia of every political event.

(2,343 posts)Ive traveled quite a bit so far this year to both blue and red states. Not heard a lot of people discussing politics.
This afternoon, I told a coworker "tomorrow's the big day." This guy has a master in industrial engineering, is quite smart, and I we discuss current events almost daily. But...
"What big day," he asked.
"The Mueller Repport comes out."
"Oh, cool." Then seconds later, he said, "Wait. I thought it already came out."
I did a mental face palm.
A lot of people arent going to engage for at least a year or more. Summer of 2020, they'll start thinking about it.

trump is the worst Prez in history, and likely for decades into the future. But he was elected by our system, which makes it difficult to unseat the Prez. In most cases, thats likely a good thing. Painful in this case.

(25,531 posts)Why would anyone rather have Republicans in charge because Democrats aren't "tougher"? Doesn't make any sense. Is this another attempt at #DemExit #BothSides #ICallDemocratsMilquetoastBeacuseIBelievePropaganda?
