Why waste the time on Trump? Continue the investigations and subpoena Mueller.

President Clinton agreed to testify, thus ending the R's quest to subpoena him. As of today, I kind of wish he had let them issue a subpoena. Clinton was thinking of future presidents; Half Day Trump is only thinking of himself.

Sure. Like any citizen, the President is not protected from subpoena. He could invoke executive privilege once he is before a committee, but he can still be called to testify. The President is generally protected from indictment while he is in office, but if a prosecutor develops sufficient cause for an indictment, the House of Representatives can then move to impeach.

He would refuse to appear, citing executive privilege and separation of powers. If he did appear, he would lie, as he always does.

There is no point to such a subpoena.
