The house very possibly could bring up articles of impeachment. But they don't have the votes in the Senate, and even further McConnell probably would not even let it come up.
So, he wouldn't be impeached and removed from office. And it would be spun as a failure on behalf of the Democrats by both the media, and the Republicans, as well as the public.
They can censure him in the house, without the Senate.
He's not going to get removed by impeachment, censure is their way of doing what they can control.

Trump, at the very least, has obstructed justice. This is a serious crime. It is an atrocity that there are people (republicans) who think he should get away with his lawlessness. It is not acceptable that a president would be allowed to run the government like the mob.

(14,564 posts)McConnell won't even allow it to come up in the Senate. All bringing articles of impeachment up in the house will do, is be spun is failure by the media and Republicans when nothing happens in the Senate.
He's not going to be removed either way. The house can censure him, without the Senate.
It's the best they can do, and makes a statement in perpetuity of what this guy is.

(18,770 posts)The report, despite redactions, is a bombshell and a inventory of skulduggery. All the Dems have to do is keep it (and any subsequent legal actions) front and center for another 18 months and the ads will write themselves.
