most laptops now don't even have built in CD/DVD/Blu Ray drives anymore, desktops still them them though

About the only reason to burn a CD any more is to make a music CD, and in fact there are easier ways to play music these days, so CDs are pretty much obsolete.

(456 posts)for my annual Holiday Music CDs. I make a special Holiday Music CD, using songs I found on YouTube and converted to MP3 files.
I consider this my Christmas card/gift to friends and family. I make a big production on finding the right photo for the cover.
Two years ago when my Dad had passed I used a picture of him from 1957, holding up some jazz LPs he got for Christmas.
My friends look forward to getting their CD every year and I am not sure a thumbdrive would have the same effect
