I think we want to run against Trump! Pence can act sane. I think we want Trump in 2020 election.

(3,344 posts)Impeachment is the ONLY choice because it is the right thing to do. Trump CONTINUES to commit crimes and will be emboldened if the House does nothing.
We cannot send the message to Trump and future presidents that this behavior is OK.
And what the fuck happens if Trump wins, with Russia's help again?

(28,979 posts)NO Democrats would vote for him, and a zillion GOP hopefuls will push him off the stage. He does not scare me in the least. A most unpresidential figure who will carry Trump on his back. Trumpies will not dare run in the future. Even a MAGA hat pic from this era will automatically disqualify for public office. Public shaming will take care of all Trump era officials.

(25,471 posts)He clearly deserves to be impeached, but let's not pretend Trump that cares what Democrats do or that it influences his decision-making, except for potentially making it worse. He thrives on being a target and a victim.
He's not about to change, and he's certainly not going to be dissuaded if the House impeaches and the Senate fails to convict.

If the public demands impeachment they should move forward.

(63,221 posts)Pence is a weak candidate and does not have Trump's cult-like following. He appeals to the religious nut-cases, but I would bet that pretty much everyone else is "meh" about him, in other words, he's not going to get people running to the polls.
