All those conservatives who triumphantly cited Barrs letter now have to accept the fact that Trump Is deceitful & a big liar. He lied to cover up the Trump Tower meeting. He lied to cover up his Trump Moscow project. He tried to force his own White House counsel to lie. Sorry.

(9,670 posts)Admit to no fault. Say the opposite of the truth and claim it to be the truth. Lie without embarrassment but with impunity.
Nope. I fully expect these conservatives to tell us that the redacted report actually vindicates the President. If Dems don't disabuse them of this tact, this is how the media will write the script and how the historians will recall this chapter of our (so-called) democracy.

(20,018 posts)And what kind of people are the rest of us, that have let this monster rise again while we tried to make friends with it?

(1,480 posts)like Fascism. We seem to need authority figures, so we embrace them whenever and wherever they show up. Remember that many Americans not only liked Hitler, but contributed to his rise.

(30,613 posts)Pal, that statement means that you are a despicable human being. And I use the term human loosely.
(Not addressed to the OP, but to the deplorable on teevee).

(11,989 posts)Some people just believe in the agenda. They want conservative judges or whatever. They may prefer it came in a more palatable package, but in the end, the package doesn't matter. I know people like that. They didn't vote for Trump in the Republican primary, and really wished he hadn't gotten the nomination, but there was no doubt that they were going to support the Republican. I'm really curious to see whether Weld gets any traction in the Republican primaries.

(6,535 posts)and at the end of the day, that's all that really matters at this point in their agenda.

(30,613 posts)It's pretty straightforward.

(30,613 posts)So Trump's supporters, whether they endorse his personal evil qualities or not, are endorsing an evil agenda. The term "deplorable" is inadequate to describe them.
ScratchCat
(1,990 posts)That the report vindicates Trump and is bullshit at the same time.
They don't really care about the truth, because the truth destroys their little fantasy world where everyone but the man who said Barack Obama is from Kenya is the bad guy.

(58,785 posts)But AMONG the ones who kept their mouths shut and wanted to see the report will be some who are another matter. We only need a relatively small percent to turn against what they're doing.
