Waste of oxygen Glenn Greenwald still whining (on Tucker Carlson) about media getting it wrong

After taking a very premature victory lap and declaring the Mueller report the new Iraqi WMD and an embarrassing moment for the news media for hyping it up these past years, Glenn Greenwald is still refusing to admit that there's anything incriminating for the president in the Mueller report. He's now complaining that the media has shifted their focus away from collusion and towards obstruction because collusion turned out to be a big bust. He says that Trump, "Broke the brains of a lot of people," that are so desperate to get the president that they're latching on to anything. He completely ignores the fact that all the obstruction strongly points to collusion, or that obstruction itself is a crime and that maybe the fact that we have a president that would even dare to obstruct an investigation into whether a hostile foreign power interfered in our democracy is serious cause for concern.

The really infuriating thing is, he's doing this on TUCKER CARLSON of Faux News. Yeah, that news network and that white supremacist pundit that were two of the major pushers of those phantom WMD he's always whining about and comparing the Mueller report to. Never once does he bother to call them out on it though, oh no.

I think we can safely close the book on Mr. Greenwald, and Matt Taibbi. They're officially nothing but Trump PR people now.

Greenwald said the media "went so far off the rails" and just flushed down their whole narrative of the past three years and shifted focus to obstruction. Greenwald lamented that the media is conflating collusion and obstruction to claim "they were right along."

"This is one of the problems that I think let the media just to go so far off the rails is that, especially those two cable networks, but also even newspapers, pretty much prohibited dissent from ever being heard so they constantly fed each other these conspiracy theories and told each other they were on the right track they advanced it further. And never really had to confront anybody who questioned or challenged them in any way," Greenwald said on Thursday's broadcast of 'Tucker Carlson Tonight.'

They are grandstanders. Greenwald will do anything to get attention.

The truth is, Greenwald is a selfish person, and as far as he is concerned it is all about him and his ego.

11. Oops, I wasn't clear. I agree with you he isn't intentionally shilling for tRump.

He does say he thinks tRump is unfit for office, but then he plays the tRump PR line, down almost to a T, on the Mueller report. It's bizarre, ultimately. He again mentions "the surveillance state" in passing. Definitely has his biases and blind spots in abundance.

Greenwald mischaracterized the report consistently, and used binary absolutes when Mueller says NO SUCH THING.

DOJ Policy, and the narrow legal standard of proof for Criminal Conspiracy (prove an agreement was made) are what kept Mueller from charging President Asshole.

Plenty of Coordination and Cooperation with a HOSTILE FOREIGN POWER was documented. Ukraine and Britain are NOT equivalent to Putin's Russia.

8. That and the separation of powers...

Rachel Maddow said it best when she was discussing the similarities between Mueller's investigation and the Watergate investigation. Cox and Jaworski did not come to any conclusion about indictments against the president, but laid everything out for Congress to put together because it was Congress that decides on oversight of the president.

Mueller operated within the mandate he was given as special prosecutor. He was not engaging in a criminal investigation which would have ever lead to a direct conviction of Trump. He spun off all other issues to the appropriate jurisdictions, and he created a report which provides all the findings from the questions that were initially posed without stating whether Trump should be prosecuted because that is not his place to say.

Of course people who support the president or in Greenwald's case, support the Russian view of the world; are going to say that the report exonerates the president. Conservatives are binary thinkers and Greenwald is bitter about a lot of things and has an axe to grind against what he sees as "the establishment".
