This poll was from mid last year, the current polls have Red Don in the late 30s for impeachment including the BS one Nate Silver just posted with no independent split.
There's nearly a Nixon '74 level of public support for impeaching Trump

(CNN)There is a truly remarkable number in the most recent CNN poll, conducted by SSRS and out this morning.
In it, 42% of Americans say President Donald Trump should be impeached and removed from office.
What makes it remarkable is that he's on par with President Richard Nixon, who 43% of Americans said should be impeached and removed from office in a March 1974 Harris poll. That was after the scale of Watergate came to light, but months before the House started to move against Nixon, who would go on to resign in August 1974 rather than be impeached.

let republicans try and remove the president but the impeachment can give abilities they don't have now
First thing to do is get all the information out there, in the public arena. Even an erosion of a couple of approval points for tRump can be pivotal. Hit him on his weakness (panic!) and ineptitude (can't even successfully obstruct justice--despite trying very, VERY hard--because a) he doesn't know how stuff works; and b) everyone around him thinks he is barking mad). The Great Deal Maker and Best Mind Evah who can't do shit.
