get away with gasligting. Nobody else does that directly. Not CNN. Not other comedians. It is such a satisfying way to end a week. He's clever and clever is what we need to be against the likes of republicans.so we disagree. GOP has managed to erase the public square of debate so that their lies will take. Maher is one place it still exists. He's not always right in his predictions but Paul Krugman is only right in his predictions 75% of the time (and he is rated as the most accurate columnist) and Maher must be up there in that. I don't know why you think he is not as smart as he thinks. Nobody else has been doing the political comedy thing as long and as successfully as him. Maybe Jon Stewart. But he is retired. I just don't get it when people think that there is only one measure of intelligence. There are hundreds of ways to be very smart. He may not have your particular mix but then you don't have his. Politics is very hidden at times. Takes some guessing to be particularly good at sussing it out. Politucs is about the future. Fact is you can't nail it unless you are willing to be wrong at times. In fact if you ate not willing to be wrong then you are no good at It at all. It is about hypothesis and then testing. And add to that comedy. He's got the chops.
