Richmond, VA - Today, former governor and U.S. Senate candidate Tim Kaine campaigned in events throughout Virginia. In the morning, Kaine rallied more than 100 volunteers at the Kaine for Virginia Richmond headquarters before a neighborhood canvass. Kaine thanked the volunteers and told them that in a close race it will be their hard work that makes the difference.

"I always run like I'm campaigning for city council which is how I started in politics," Kaine told the crowd. "In a close race it won't be the negative super PAC ads or the number of zeros on a check that makes the difference. It will be people like you-every door knocked matters, every phone call matters."
