Easter with my Trump loving family

This is my husbands family, my family is pure blue.

We were pretty sure a niece and nephew voted for Trump. At Christmas brother in law said "I'll never vote for Trump again". I went ballistic. He's a grown ass man with a flipping PhD! I told him I thought less of him. Haven't seen 'em until today. I didn't want to go but felt I had too. At one point I said (referring to a table he built his wife) "Build me one of those and promise not to vote for Trump in 2020 and it will go along way to my forgiving you" He and his wife couldn't get it out fast enough "NO WAY will we vote for Trump again. She said she might have to not vote but she will not vote for him". Now Gramma got in on it. BILs mother. She's old. She said "Who can you believe, they all lie." I jumped on that "They found Obama lied 16 times in 8 years and trump is almost at 10,000. "Well, what do you think we should do about immigration" "Don't cut off funds to countries where they come from like Trump and Trump is the reason we have so many now, he says he'll close the border and they need to get in quick (it was longer, with sources, etc) But the money doesn't make it to the people" I take off again. Then she said "at least he has stopped the crass language lately"
me: "Did you read the Mueller report where he said, when he learned they had opened an investigation 'That's the end of my presidency, I'm F-ed" She was shocked. I think mostly because the president said the F word (ha ha, she's not spent much time around me) The two rabid Trumpers stayed away. I'm not sure any of that family will vote for Trump next time. He's lost at least 5 votes in this state. Maybe not for the right reasons, but still.

They can complain even as they benefit from a Democratic President.

I wish you'd put in more breaks.
You had me at niece and nephew.
I'm sorry you had to go toe to toe but look how far you got.
It's a long haul but you can get them back in the barn.

a POS like tRump. And it's not only the vote, but why the vote? Are they racist? Are they stupid? They need to be held accountable and that's exactly what I am doing with my family and friends, holding them to account for the damage they themselves have done to my country and the future of my kids/grandkids.

Glad you are awake and did not want to watch it silently now then wake up too late as Germany once did, to the awareness that 1/3 of Americans would kill another 1/3, while 1/3 watches

Rethuglicans can't help themselves. They see the shiny new group to hate on and they cannot resist.

I can get them to write in someone else. First I have to figure it out so it isn't too complicated for them then I can teach them how to do it. My other in laws wrote in Mitt Romney (they are Mormon) and say what you will about Mitt, he's not Trump.

In my experience, right-wingers always go back into the fold just before elections. They come up with lame excuses for doing so.
