Did we ever really think that Republicans would finally say: "Okay, that's enough, he's got to go. He's a danger to us all?’’

It was never going to happen, and it will never happen, no matter what he does to destroy the freedoms of the ‘Land of the Free’, because for them, there is no bottom. No crimes are considered too egregious. We have zero evidence of decency or ethics or duty. Nothing but corruption and cowardice and clinging to a crumbling edifice of a dying power.

If we includes me or any number of people I know or encounter online or in the real world, then no "we", never, ever for a single solitary minute, probably since the mid 2000's ever thought we could work with Republicans or that they would ever, EVER do the right thing.

If by "we" you mean the Democratic party and most of the people who run and control it, my fear is that they STILL seem to believe this and are holding out hope for that mythical "good Republican" who will do the right thing.
