There is the analysis I've been waiting for.
Heard on NPR this morning that one reason Dem reps are hesitating to support impeachment is they aren't hearing from voters.
START CALLING!!!

(7,814 posts)found/will find shouldn't we proceed assuming the worst fears are true? Isn't national security so important that to assume otherwise is foolhardy? If our elected officials are just crossing their fingers in the face of a lot of publicly available evidence that the WH isn't compromised but is in competent, well meaning hands then how much is being risked? Everything?

(19,572 posts)Her credentials as a counterintelligence expert speak for themselves.
"The U.S.-born Rangappa, whose parents are from Karnataka, came out of the training and joined the New York Division of the FBI as a special agent in 2002. She believes that, at the time, she became the first Indian-American woman to do so. She specialized in counterintelligence investigations, assessing threats to national security, conducting classified investigations on suspected foreign agents and performing undercover work. After serving for three years, she quit. Planning to get married, she moved to Yale Universitys Jackson Institute for Global Affairs as an associate dean. I was thinking of starting a family at that time, she said.
From action to academia
Rangappa is now an associate dean at Yale, where she had received her law degree. She also teaches National Security Law and related courses, and is one of the most sought-after commentators for newspapers and TV on national security issues, particularly on the current investigation into alleged Russian interference in the 2016 U.S. presidential election."

(8,020 posts)needs to be done, the best way to go about impeachment, not rush them. I believe they will have to start hearings very soon once they figure out for sure that they will get zero cooperation from the fascists.
but I called all 8 of my Pa. reps.
Our voices count.

(4,166 posts)The House Dems have two years of crap to overcome. Give them another few months. After that there is no reason to not start impeachment hearings. If we fear failing because of the Senate, then we definitely lose for not trying. The Committee Chairpersons are the very finest, intelligent, capable people we have. Pelosi needs to trust them.

(53,410 posts)What we need to let them know is that it is politically expedient for them to have impeachment hearings if they want to keep their jobs.

(2,596 posts)It won't matter because there won't be a Republic left to "win". With Trump suing Congress to block their subpoena for his tax records, they should see exactly what this monster is going to do to remain in office until death.
He is already thumbing his nose at the laws and the institutions of the land. He's doing it with impunity and with no consequence. He must be stopped and the Dems' popularity won't be worth shit because he and his rethug cronies will run roughshod over everything.
