Trump sues Elijah Cummings to prevent public scrutiny of his finances

[div class="excerpt"The Washington Post reports that Trump has filed a lawsuit against Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-MD), the chairman of the House Oversight Committee, who last week subpoenaed Mazars USA, an accounting firm used by the Trump Organization.

In the lawsuit against Cummings, Trump’s lawyers accused Democrats of being “singularly obsessed with finding something they can use to damage the President politically,” and suggested they had no legal authority to issue subpoenas of the president’s past business dealings.]

There is a thing called oversight. It is not like somebody died and left tRumpolini totally in charge.

I get a whiff of desperation from the tRump camp. Anything to keep the base riled up and on his side. I hope he’s laughed right out of court, but nothing much surprises me any more.

He sues people all the time when he feels attacked. Sometimes the threat of the suit works, sometimes he loses the suit, sometimes he ends up settling out of court, quietly, away from the public eye.

None of that will work in this case. It may or may not delay the hearing process, but I assume there will be a quick court ruling the suit has no merit.
From Trump's point of view, as well as the GOP, delay is the best tactic, what with the election on the horizon.
