White House hosts 141st Easter Egg Roll
First lady Melania Trump takes her third crack at the White House Easter Egg Roll on Monday.
Orchestrated by the East Wing, the 141st White House Easter Egg Roll features activity stations, including the first lady's new addition of musical eggs and "Be Best" hopscotch.
In honor of the first lady's "Be Best" initiative, children will have the opportunity to "spread kindness to anyone they choose ... directly through a United States Postal Service mailbox that will be on the South grounds," per the Office of the First Lady. The first lady, press secretary Sarah Sanders, and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo are among the featured reading nook readers this year.
The White House expects nearly 30,000 attendees at the event, which will feature entertainment from the US Marine, Army, Air Force and Navy Bands.
The Incredible Egg (the American Egg Board), which provides all 74,000 real eggs for rolling, dyeing and eating, also provides the first lady with a commemorative egg gift of her own, intricately emblazoned with "Be Best" designed by artist Cecilia Glembocki, the executive director of the Virginia Egg Council.
