TAMPA, Fla. Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush said Sunday that hes not motivated to seek the White House and follow in the footsteps of his presidential brother and father.
Bush, whom many Republicans had implored to run for president this year, acknowledged on Meet the Press that 2012 would have offered a prime opportunity for him to seek the Republican presidential nomination.
But Bush, who had been scheduled to speak here on Monday night of the Republican National Convention before weather forced the cancelation of that days activities, would not rule out a future run for president, though he did not seem eager to do so.
I don't think about it. I'm not motivated by it. It takes an incredible amount of discipline and ambition, Bush told moderator David Gregory.

(34,845 posts)Jeb is no more the savior of the GOP than Karl Rove.
You remember Rove, right? The puppet master who allowed Palin then Romney and now Akin to demoralize and destroy the GOP?
Jeb is nothing unless we make him more than he is.

(21,925 posts)Jeb Bush tried to sound like a reasonable Republican by saying that politicians should focus more on problem solving than ideology. Gregory asked him if he would favor tax increases and Bush said no. Then he said he wanted tax reform to stimulate the economy. That's code language for trickle down tax cuts for the rich but do you think Gregory followed up on that? Then Bush argued in favor of privatizing medicare but do you think Gregory pointed out his subtle code language in favor of that? Jeb Bush said he thinks Romney is a great guy. Jeb Bush is just the same as the other merchants of BS in his party.

(75,480 posts)before the fact. It makes them look thoughtful and humble. I'll betcha Karl Rove is already assembling the war chest funds in secret. As far as the "incredible amount of discipline and ambition" BS. All he has to do is look at his older brother to know that isn't so. Hey Jebby, go find a Veep willing to do all the dirty work. Rick Santorum or Grover Norquist comes to mind as perfect for the job of further destroying our country while making all of you even wealthier than ever. Then sit back and enjoy the martinis.
