The 2000 adaptation, you might recall, was a little underwhelming - even with William Hurt as Duke Atreides.

Of course though, it was made-for-tv; so as such it wasn't bad at all.

That said, it'll have some very big shoes to fill in light of David Lynch's masterpiece. If I were them, I'd have Brian Eno compose incidental music for the new production as well.

...as close to the source material as possible. Lynch's DUNE took a few "liberties" with the story, though still. IMHO, an underappreciated masterpiece. I have been a DUNE fan since the late 70's. The story never gets old.
