The White House Hung up on Gold Star Widow Who Called to Discuss Taxes

Many Americans found themselves shocked at the rise in their tax rate during April of 2018. One group paying much higher rates were Gold Star families who collect survivor benefits. Since these families, in many cases, had lost their main breadwinner, this created a tremendous financial hardship.
Jessica Braden-Rogers, who’s husband Michael was killed in the Middle East, wanted to speak to the Trump administration about her concerns. When she called the White House, however, she says that she was hung up on.
Braden-Rogers appeared on Don Lemon’s CNN show on Wednesday night to tell her story. She explained, “None of us found out until we were filing our taxes.”
The Gold Star widow has been completely unable to get any answers from her congressperson or the White House. “I was hung up on by them,” Braden-Rogers said. “And I have received no responses. And so have many of the military widows that I’ve spoken to.”.....................
