Now Bill Barr can't sneak her out of the country. She'll be available for questions from the House investigation.

I'm sure that Pootie will take her back on some kind of trade, eventually.
But for now we're keeping her in prison.

7. longer sentence would encourage more memory recovery, ala Michael Cohen.

Remember, Cohen only 'saw the light' with remorse, etc. - after traitortrump [oddly?] threw Cohen under the bus.

and sent back to Russia. Wondering how her return goes. I'll bet she will be seized and held as soon as she steps off the plane.

11. Well, they will seize her to see whether she gave up secrets

Even if she didn't give up secrets, she got caught and probably ended a Russian program to infiltrate certain groups in the US. I don't think she will be treated as a hero.
Russians want her back expeditiously to prevent her from talking any more.

12. It all depends if or if not Putin wants to "tie up any lose ends."

Some of the Russian agents that helped in the cyber war/rat fucking or our elections
died or disappeared with in weeks of the 2016 election. And yes if "they" (the Russians)
find out that she gave up important secrets in order to get a lighter sentence she might
be in deep shit.

9. 9 months for an international criminal act of war & spying against America?

I bet Bill Barr is very happy and Butina will stay very quiet too.

and offer to exchange Butina's freedom for that person's. Since they're (of course) insisting Butina wasn't a spy, and are willing to falsely claim any American they choose to is a spy, that'd be their bogus claim they'd broadcast out to the world over Fox News. Excuse me, Russia Today. I mixed up my mouthpieces of autocrats masquerading as news media there.

No guarantees they'll do this... tweaking your opponents this way does disrupt whatever comity-and-working-standards-between-intell-operations are still existing at the moment. And for little gain in this instance: Butina was a lousy spy... most of what she did has to be known openly by now. So, probably just as likely they'll let her cool her heels for the 9 more months, I guess.
