Got an email coupon from Bed Bath and Beyond, and the are specifically touting that they now carry CBD oil. My brother said he saw it in some some of dollar/discount type store. What next? Walmart? (I'm in Michigan so you don't need a 'card' to purchase it.)
I am most definitely in the market for some CBD oil, for help with my insomnia and energy draining anxiety but I'm not sure BB&B is the best place for such a purchase!

(4,723 posts)I also have anxiety issues, massive ones, and I have battled lifelong insomnia. Maybe it's help me.

(26,281 posts)At least until they get the licensing stuff worked out, in Michigan, for the stores to open. I'm looking forward to some edibles for particularly rough patches.

(53,410 posts)I have tendinitis all over my body so Im hoping it helps with the pain. And, of course, it would work with my back pain which is due to trying to deal with the tendon pain. I hope it works so well that I can go for walks again. Ive always loved taking walks.

(26,281 posts)There's a sort of a Naturopathic place, not to far from here, that's carrying it. It's not a "Woo" (is that the right term?) place. They are actually associated with an Osteopathic Physician practice group. I did notice the price was a bit higher than at BB&B, but it might also be a much higher quality.

(14,961 posts)place? I imagine they would have it. In Florida, we have had it at many convenience stores, vape shops, etc...forever.
A lot of people are like, I wouldn't buy CBD oil at a convenience store. It depends on the brand, if it's a brand I trust I wouldn't hesitate.

(26,281 posts)It's actually listed as a "Health and Nutrition" store. They have a lot of supplements, health and beauty items, etc.
I was surprised when I clicked on the 'Practitioner' list, expecting to find some NPs but the were all DOs, and a couple of Chiropractors.

(26,281 posts)I might use one of those 20% off coupons at BB&B, just to see if what they are selling will help.

(6,797 posts)but I bought the oil to help with my back pain. Didn't touch the pain.

(26,281 posts)I have what feels like walnut sized muscle knots. I tried massage therapy to deal with them, but ended up in more pain than before I went in!
Since I have no doubt the tension is triggered by stress that's triggered by anxiety, MAYBE the oil will help.

(63,221 posts)I started the keto diet almost three weeks ago. I don't know if I can do this forever, but one of the great benefits is that I have had no back/shoulder/neck tension, and therefore no tension headaches, since I started. I'm not sure if it's giving up wheat/gluten/sugar, but something seems to be working. I also have no more knee pain when walking up stairs (have had a number of knee injuries throughout my life and thought it was just inevitable).
You might want to try cutting out simple carbs for a while and see if it helps. Good luck!

I have to force myself to eat at times because the desire isn't there. I do notice I have more energy, my joints don't hurt as much as they did before I started. I can actually see my toes again, without sucking my stomach in.
I'll cheat and take a smidge of chocolate or other fruits, as long as I'm under 16 carbs for the day.
I shouldn't though, because I do notice the immediate desire to want to nosh on more, which sugars drive.
I just want the taste, no matter how small it is. Just a peck of something is all that is needed to satisfy taste desires.

(63,221 posts)bored. I'm amazed that I have been able to do it, since I love carbs so much. I hope to go through the summer and then just go on a basic low carb maintenence diet. I just want to be able to fit back into my old clothes again since I am now at that age where I can't just eat anything I want anymore and not gain weight.
You have done great! Best of luck to you!

Now, keep in mind, I am down to 218lbs at 6 feet tall. I am doing ZERO exercise and doing the 16 carb a day thing.
Once I get down to 200lbs, I'll shift to maintenance mode, which is 50 carbs a day, so that opens up a good treat or two. I'll also start on an exercise regime, because right now I don't want to stress my joints with the extra weight I have.

(805 posts)I see it a convenience stores, and various other places (Texas).
However, the reality is that CBD probably has a number of beneficial uses, but, has not been studied definitively, therefore a lot of the claimed effects are anecdotal at best.
I think there is a lot of promise for the chemical profile of cannabis, in general, but it is not a panacea.

(717 posts)Best place to get it is from CWhemp.com. This is the official Charlottes Web CBD. Good quality, well reviewed. I take medical grade CBD and use products from this site, so far very happy with anything I have gotten so far. Be careful buying the oil lots of crap out there. Not all hemp oil is equal.
Thanks!

(32,706 posts)I get it at a medical Cannabis store in Bay City. Ive looked for a cheaper source and all those are CBD oils and not tinctures.
Feeling great and now running 4 to 5 miles every other day. Not bad for a 70 year old. My Affect is improved and knee much better. Good luck and share with us what you find out.

(26,281 posts)I just wish they'd get off of their asses and get the licensing situation straightened out, in Michigan, so that we can get some shops open. I tried a hard candy edible, once, and it was perfect. I could break it into smaller pieces and use only as much as I needed to 'unwind'.

(32,706 posts)The new law, you cant sell or buy on the street, but allows to gift. That might help you.

(26,281 posts)It's all just so ridiculous, right now. I know the repubs will try to drag this out, for as long as possible. One would think the money this will bring in to the state would be enough motivation for them. We could FIX THE DAMN ROADS!!

(29,215 posts)a CBD cream to rub on your temples...
didn't really help.
should add... nothing else I've tried other than really strong vicodin style drugs help either... and I'm way too scared of those to take them for my migraines.

(525 posts)with cbd oil :
My son has epilepsy. He has used Keppra, which had drastic effects on his moods and he still had seizures roughly every week but less than the 3-4 times a week before using it. Then he was put on Topiramate with the same results. It was difficult to get him to take meds because of how they made him feel even with dire warnings that these seizures could kill him.
It was emotionally exhausting. The fear of knowing one will happen, but when? Constantly hearing or imagining hearing noises that sound like him possibly having a seizure. And every time one hit him, running to keep him on his side and away from objects, praying he will take another breath while watching his face turn blue because the seizures contact his chest muscles.
I live in Colorado so the Stanley brothers cbd producing plant stopping that little girl Charlottes seizures and the family suffering was huge news here. Charlottes Webb its called. We wanted to try it immediately but so did a lot of other people looking to help their loved ones, so we had to wait a few months before they had enough supply.
Physicians laughed at us for daring to mention it, and I have to say, I have had enough of arrogant physicians.
It worked! It stopped his seizures immediately. That was in 2015!
My son couldnt be happier. He has freedom. He can drive again. He was embarrassed by it. Lost a girlfriend who couldnt handle it.
So we couldnt be happier with the results.

(26,281 posts)And here's me thinking it will be a miracle if it can help with my anxiety and insomnia!!
Sometimes we just have to take our health into our own hands and try things that the business of medicine either doesn't want to explore, or doesn't find to be profitable enough.

I hope people stop demonizing cannabis so scientists can research it fully, without bias, to reveal the positives and negatives of its use.
The truth allows us to make better decisions.

(26,281 posts)I've heard people swear by a sub-lingual form - a few drops under your tongue and it instantly gets absorbed. Of course, that might just be the oil and the best way to use it.
I just want something that will keep my brain from spinning, when I wake up after a couple of hours. Sometimes I can, eventually, fall back asleep. Sometimes not.
