https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2019/05/01/early-takeaways-william-barrs-tense-hearing/
1) Barr is unrepentant
If you thought Barr might bend to criticism that he had been too favorable to Trump and change his approach, youd be wrong.
2) Barr explains his allegedly misleading testimony
In addition to the Mueller letters rebuke of Barr, it also called into question his past testimony. Barr testified to the House last month after receiving the letter and suggested he wasnt familiar with how the Mueller team perceived his actions.
3) Grahams misleading preamble
Graham has turned into one of Trumps most loyal allies on Capitol Hill. And true to form, he started the hearing on a very pro-Trump foot, using a series of misleading statements.
4) Digs at Mueller?
Barr and Mueller are reported to be friends, but one comment in particular suggested there might be some tension between them. When discussing Muellers letter and their conversations, Barr suggested Mueller could have headed this whole thing off before it ever happened and failed to.

(46,757 posts)I've been there. You're acting cordial and civil with a neighbor, and then they show you their crooked nature and they're surprised when you begin to distance yourself from them. "But I thought we were friends." Fuck you!

(2,429 posts)I reported it to my principal. Within three weeks I had been written up for 7 piddly things like shirts without a collar etc. and was put on a "growth plan." The retaliation continued until I resigned before I was fired. My lawyer then filed open records requests for communications between the principal and the superintendent on the dates that I reported the cheating. They came back and offered to pay me for the rest of the year I didn't complete (including through the summer) and wrote a glowing recommendation as long as I kept quite a out the whole thing. I took the money and got a better paying job. The cheating teacher still works there.
Point is there are a lot of corrupt people in this word.
This was in Texas where teachers have zero Union protection.

(82,849 posts)The Post's "early takeaways" are about a quarter step above middle school gossip. As for their second point, I must have completely missed how Barr "explains his allegedly misleading testimony" about whether or when Barr knew anything about how Mueller reacted to Barr's four-page-summary-that-wasn't-a-summary.
