they'd be campaigning for things like universal health care, paid child care, adequate subsidies for parents, birth control.

As you said, it's about controlling women.

Have you ever seen the videos of men who are given a taste of childbirth? The men all start out saying childbirth is a piece of cake and they don't why women think it's so tough. The typically make it about 15 minutes into simulated labor and they give up. I just wish that every single man who think it's so easy should absolutely have to go through a minimum of four hours of simulated labor. And at that, four hours would be a piece of cake compared to what the majority of women actually go through.

Oh, and if childbirth really were that easy, here's something else. A woman having a second or third or whatever baby invariably gets up within hours and not only cares for the newborn but for the children already in the household.

I remember when my husband had a vasectomy and you'd have thought he'd undergone major surgery without anesthesia. I never fully forgave him for that.
