Just a quick question. What mechanisms would allow trump to stay in office once he loses?

I've seen many posts about him not wanting to leave office, but nobody talking about how that would work. First off the 22nd Amendment doesn't allow for that. Then for him to pull it off each of the many systems of government that would have to completely go along with his garbage for that to work. ALL of the military, ALL of the intelligence community, ALL of the police, ALL state governments, every governmental organization from the IRS on down and so on and so on and so on.

This country is large and doesn't function if the greater majority of the populace doesn't go along with it. We are far too big for the machinery to stop working, and there aren't nearly enough skilled trumpoglidytes to keep it running. Trump can say all the dumb shit he wants, and try to throw a temper tantrum on his way out. He is on his way out it makes no difference because he's on his way out. Besides, the 22nd Amendment has nothing in there about 2 extra years for "reparations" or lifetime appointments.. I mean if he wants to talk reparations I know a few places we can start. I'm sure the Native Americans would like to have their land back and I'd be happy to take a few extra dollars on behalf of my not so distant relatives.

What can he do to hold power other than not inform the next president of what's going on in the world? I mean the next pres isn't going to give to flying figs about putin's world view or how much "dear leader" loves "trumpy bear". Beyond those two particular items I don't even know what valuable insight he can give to 46 about the day to day operations of the presidency. How can he when that idiot probably doesn't even know what the day to day operations of the presidency actually entails. The agencies are largely running themselves these days.

All of that aside tho, back to the original question. Other than trying to get his stupid flock to militarize to keep him in power. What else is there really? What states are going to back him? Any of the states that do the "actual" paying of the bills?

edit:I'm not actually looking for ideas on how he should stay in office. Just trying to make a point or two in an effort to bolster the spirits of the folks in the dumps about his attempts at being a neophyte dictator.

and read comments stating that he will not leave office peacefully. He is not above the law and I think Congress knows that this is just food for his sycophant deplorables. I really don't see where this would be tolerated in this country whether it is Democratic or rethuglican presidents.

There is no way, short of a full on coup, he can stay in office if someone else wins. If he loses and refuses to leave the Secret Service will escort him and his staff out of the WH. The new president will become the military's Commander in Chief and refuse to carry out orders from Trump or his minions.

The conspiracy theorizing around here is starting to reach tin foil hat levels.

As it stands the gears of our government are doing their best to keep him from fucking things up any more than he can.

will escort him out. If they need help, I suppose more than few other security agents would be glad to assist.

of law enforcement agents climbing all over themselves clamouring to escort Trump, his crooked family and corrupt cronies off the premises.

(at least before this guy who just scrawls and then displays his signature like a child). They use a different pen for each letter in their name so that they have plenty of pens to give as mementos to people who were instrumental in getting the bill passed.

Maybe they can line the agents up and them several of them escort Trump or a Trumpeter two feet, then bring the next batch, let them walk them two feet, etc. And park the cars out near the Lincoln Memorial so they have enough runway to accommodate every agent who wants to participate in the perp walk.

That still probably wouldn't enable every agent to join in, but it would let a lot of them be a part of it.

There are provisions allowing Congress to reject the votes of individual electors in some circumstances

The outcome will either be that we have elected a president and vice-president or have not

If no president has been elected, the choice of president falls to the House (on a state-by-state vote); and if no vice-president elected, that choice falls to the Senate (on a majority vote)

If a vice-president but not a president finally results, the vice-president becomes president

If neither a vice-president nor a president finally results, the speaker of the house becomes president upon resignation from that office and from congress
