i think donald fraud blew it this week

after begging and begging for the mueller investigation to be shut down, he finally got his wish and it was stopped with some key conclusions left dangling, and some notable targets left free from indictment.

barr's spin might have been clumsy and obvious, but it seemed quite plausible that donald fraud could ride out the bad news of the report itself, bouyed by the non-indictments, and the timing well in advance of the general election campaign, to survive one of the worst scandals in presidential history.

then he decided to say f*ck you to congress.

no cooperation, no complying with subpoenas, no documents, no tax returns, nothing, nada, zip, nope.

wtf is he thinking? no sooner does he scrape by with a pass for a mountain of high crimes and misdemeanors, he then has to turn around and create brand new ones, and piss of some republicans, too -- for what? to keep secret a report we've mostly seen already?

honestly, i think historians will look back on this week as the week he snatched defeat from the jaws of victory.

the more that stock footage plays of him walking to the presidential helicopter or waving from the WH porch, the more he's viewed as "presidential" regardless of the crawl or the voice-over. dominating news cycles worked for Reagan, and it will probably work for Trump.

He's threatening this country for the sheer sport of it, just like the psycho he is! And he's bullying and strongarming Republicans in Congress and in the executive branch to do his corrupt, criminal bidding so they go to jail while he gets off scot-free (or so he thinks).

It sure explains many things. Given that we know that he thinks trophy hunts of endangered species qualify as "winning", it makes sense that he'd view government as a contact sport.

If we're going to ignore the Constitution in this country, then he is not a President and has no authority or protection. He and his cult are fair game and they're ridiculously outnumbered. They may find soon enough that they miss the Rule of Law.

... I don't think he did.

Mueller didn't settle certain issues in his report ... those things can be settled by congress ... Red Don wants to prevent that

i think he could have taken the bad press for a few weeks, kept saying no indictment, and ride out the storm.

cranking it up to a major confrontation with congress is more likely to alienate some of the republicans in congress he needs to protect him. i'm not clear on what the real upside is for donald fraud. i mean, if this all-out obstruction war works and a less confrontational approach would not have worked, that implies that there's something in the redactions that he needs to be kept secret -- even though there was no indictment anyway.

i'm not sure what that can be. the unredacted stuff is damning enough.

Even the redacted Mueller Report raised several questions. This hasn't and will not go away, especially with obstructionhe's done this week.
