I would have to think yes. A lot of effort has gone into developing missiles that can be used in crowded urban areas.

Weapon research has to be done or American troops could fight the next war with badly out dated weapons like during the beginning of WWII with such crap as the Brewster Buffalo up against Zeros. It did not end well for the US pilots.

".....weapons"

Yeah. Of course. It makes much more sense to send money to Lockheed and Boeing and Rockwell than it does on building an effective State Department.

I like airplanes. They're cool, but I have a love/hate relationship with the amount of money the military is ALLOWED to spend on building the next, coolest, deadliest fighter or missile or whatever.

You know what the US Military should do? Give the parts of the world that desperately need it, a glass of clean water. You want to change the attitude of a few billion people toward the United States? Give them sanitation and clean drinking water. Because that's what the Chinese will end up doing, and we will sit here and watch, while we send another $50 billion to Lockheed for a crap airplane with no mission.

"Or American Troops could fight the NEXT war...."

Why the fuck don't we do everything we can to NEVER FIGHT ANOTHER FUCKING WAR?

As to our preparedness for WWII, it should be well noted that by the time D-Day came around, which was 2 and a half years after Pearl Harbor, American industry was beginning to "hit it's stride" to use an old saying. We were producing bombers and fighters and tanks and ships faster than either enemy could destroy them or shoot them out of the sky. Just as an example, the number of P-51's on order that were CANCELLED in September of 1945 were almost 20,000.

There will not ever be another war like WWII. There just won't. If there is a major international conflict it will most likely be nuclear and then it matters not a sloppy tinkers cuss how fucking modern your fighter planes are.

It's time humanity stopped with this useless building for destruction and started building for each other.

Why would they outlaw this if actual hellfires are not outlawed?

The new missile was apparently developed to fulfill an Obama-era directive to reduce civilian casualties from the American drone war.

Given that it's designed to reduce civilian casualties.

Until we figure out how to avoid it, we may as well win, and win while only killing the people we intend to kill rather than everyone in an x-foot radius.

Has Congress approved? Or is there some over-arching permission that I have not heard of?
and when did we get to the point where the CIA is accepted as a military force?
