OP
and lemme guess -- if they vote yes, it's referred to the doj for prosecution, who ignores it?

a requirement for some specific advance notice.

Pelosi went before the cameras this morning and said that shes holding off on the William Barr contempt vote because There might be some other contempt of Congress issues that we want to deal with at the same time. This doesnt explain why Pelosi would have to wait, as she could easily hold these full House contempt votes one at a time against various people. But it does give away why she wants to wait.
Nancy Pelosi just revealed that not only is the House going to hold several of Donald Trumps non-cooperative people in contempt of Congress, shes going to do it all during one big hearing. Itll make for a huge televised spectacle, driving the point home that half the Trump regime is illegally trying to cover up his crimes. And it puts the focus on the obstructive antics of Trump himself, as opposed to any one of his henchmen.

Make it clear that all these subpoenas are being ignored on Trump's orders, not because every individual has independently decided not to comply.
Well-played once again, Speaker Pelosi.

(279 posts)3. They expect additional contempt citation against other no-shows.
They are planning to vote on all at once and are putting together a package of similar items to submit to a court. That will make their case much stronger than doing ll of these things piecemeal.

it takes time. Instant gratification will not work in our favor here, patience is required.
