The Road to Hell is paved with Republicans
So if/when Roe v Wade is overturned, do you think the right wing would stop there?
Look at what they’ve done in just 2 1/2 years. And imagine what they’ll do if Trump is reelected and they hold onto the Senate. The future would look pretty dark and who’s to stop them from doing anything they want to do?
Their ultimate goal is a white, “Christian” America. So they’ll probably chip away at election laws until only white "Christian" men could vote. At that point, American democracy will be dead. You can imagine the horrors that would follow.
When you have total power and rule through fear, there’s no atrocity that can’t be committed. So black people, brown people, Jews, LGBTQs and other “undesirables,” will be disenfranchised (or worse). And then, since dictatorships always require a “THEM,” they’d find new reasons to thin their own herd. “Crimes” could include not flying a flag on your home and car, not posting a picture of Great Leader, not singing when the National Anthem is played, … hell, take your pick of what they’d do.
If you think all of this sounds overwrought, who would have believed how far we’ve sunk toward tyranny in the past 2 ½ years. If you believe “It can’t happen here,” think again. And don’t for a moment forget that right wing conservatives are our deadly enemies. We must defeat them and try to rectify the damage they’ve done so far.
