(51,640 posts)and was curious. I am glad I did, great guest today with insightful points to make.
The GOP is on its last leg and they know it so they pulled out the "race card" so salvage their corrupt party. He also said that if we do not stop this BS before the election AND then we lose the election that our democracy is dead...pretty good assessment.
He also said that in this version of the play now on Broadway the character of Atticus is a racist enabler who watches from his porch but by the end he has changed into an activist. The black housekeeper "Cal" has a significant part this time around.

(28,277 posts)I was lucky enough to see his Atticus Finch portrayal on Broadway a few months ago, and I wouldn't have thought I could be more impressed by the man. His commentary on MSNBC today proved me wrong. High point: His hope for a genuine hero in the Justice Department to walk an unredacted copy of the Mueller report over to the Washington Post. God grant that we're blessed by the actions of such a hero. And soon.

(63,221 posts)I'm impressed. I would love to hear more from him going forward. I hope he takes a bigger role in speaking out against the republicans. In fact, I would love to see him run for office.

(12,171 posts)He is down to earth as I knew he would be. And dead serious about his love of country and the peril in which we find ourselves.
And as an aside, his work on Godless was brilliant and chilling. One of the greatest, and scariest, performances Ive ever seen.
