(12,157 posts)I have a question, do people comment on them in their original publications?

(37,160 posts)For instance, Cagle Cartoons and Creators Syndicate are aggregate sites and don't have comments sections.
(on edit: Let me amend that: Creators does allow comments, but you have to scroll down and make a separate click to see them, and I don't.)
I get a lot of them from the artist's Twitter feeds, and comments to those tend to run complimentary, as you might expect when most of the people who see tweets are those who follow the person. Still the occasional foamer, though.
One aggregate site I use for a few people (Jeff Danziger, Darrin Bell, Non Sequitur, etc.), though, is Arcamax. I see the comments for Danziger's cartoons as I scroll down to get to other people, and unsurprisingly, there is a stable of conservatives who make it a point to check out his cartoons just so they can call him an idiot and repeat the usual RW delusions about the imaginary liberals that exist in their heads.
In general, though, I don't read other peoples' comments. It would take more time, and most are either the equivalent of a "+1" comment here on DU or dumbass RW bile I have no patience for.

You do a good public service, JHB. Thanks.

(37,160 posts)...though on a quick check it seems the Seattle Times runs him too. He's not on Arcamax.
