He said if he would have found evidence that Trump was innocent of obstruction he would have said so.
900 prosecutors and judges signed a letter stating that they felt Trump was guilty of obstruction

Remember he did not push to interview Trump. Doesn’t mean he couldn’t answervthe question, just that he doesn’t want to, so it would be a convenient excuse.
