The top Republican on the House Judiciary Committee on Sunday criticized remarks by Robert Mueller, saying that they showed the special counsel believes "youre guilty until we prove you innocent.
Rep. Doug Collins (R-Ga.) was specifically critical of Mueller's decision to say that if his two-year investigation of Trump had resulted in his team being confident that the president had not committed a crime, "we would have said so."
"He starts from the premise that's ... the wrong narrative from America, that we're proving innocence here and you're guilty until we prove you innocence," Collins said.
Collins also speculated Sunday that Mueller is attempting to avoid testifying before the panel so as not to answer questions on the origins of his investigation.
