Pelosi on impeachment: 'Make no mistake: We know exactly what path we're on'

As House Democrats head toward a pivotal vote next Tuesday to hold multiple Trump administration officials in contempt of Congress, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on Wednesday denied she feels pressured to move faster toward impeaching President Donald Trump, insisting Democrat leaders "know the path we're on."

Asked whether she is being influenced by any of the 23 Democratic presidential candidates or Democratic voters who want impeachment, Pelosi pointed back at “six great committees” currently "following the facts." She then hinted that, depending on how the Trump administration responds in the days ahead to past-due Democratic requests, “there could be more” committees holding Trump officials in contempt beyond the House Judiciary Committee, including the House Intelligence Committee.

"We take it one step at a time,” she said. "No, I’m not feeling any pressure."

Pelosi flatly dismissed critics and pundits who have questioned whether she has the stomach to pursue impeachment.

"Make no mistake," Pelosi said, pounding her fist into the podium. "We know exactly what path we’re on. We know exactly what actions we need to take. And while that may take more time than some people want it to take, I respect their impatience. It’s a beautiful thing and it’s important to our country."

Yep.
The impeach now crowd needs to chill out and follow our leaders who have access to the info.

No one on DU knows more. The GOP and Cheney got away scott free mostly because voters are ill informed and allow entertainment “news” on cable to pit us against each other instead of tackling the problems.

I stand behind Pelosi and the committees responsible for getting the proof.

In my view. that emboldened the GOP, which repaid President Obama with over 400 filibusters, and what McConnell did with Merrick Garland.

media would make a circus out of it. Had the voters quit voting for war profiteers then Obama could have pursued it.

How do we know this? The baloney the media helped the GOP whine about, blaming Obama for the economy, the ridiculous lies they let slide about the ACA, the ridiculous lies about Benghazi just to name a few. . And they are still doing that today.

But I do love how voters blame politicians and rarely themselves.

And President Obama trusted the leaders of the GOP.

One hopes that Pelosi has learned that the GOP is uninterested in actual democracy.

And I think they know already what Barr is up to.

This IS how the impeachment process works....gather your evidence, gather your witnesses, document the fact the coverup is still continuing, all without showing your hand.

The contempt of Congress charges have to be made.

They need this as evidence of obstruction and coverup.

If they do not come and testify, the bells are going to ring.
