In one call last month, Scott Brian Haven dialed the office of an unnamed U.S. representative and purported to be standing right behind him and ready to shoot him in the head because the Russians want him taken out because he is trying to remove a duly elected President, according to charging documents unsealed Wednesday.
Haven, 54, said, Im going to do it now, are you ready? before hanging up, prosecutors allege.
Haven threatened to cut off the heads of two senators in another call and in yet another one identified himself as Hitler and yelled repeatedly he would put a bullet in the head of the senator, the documents said.
He was arrested Tuesday in his hometown of Kaysville, Utah, about 20 miles (32 kilometers) north of Salt Lake City. He is charged with interstate transmission of threats to injure. State online records indicate he has no criminal history in Utah.

(18,470 posts)...and arrest a former police captain who spent his retirement mailing invective to half the city.
It was only after he threatened more well connected individuals they finally felt the need to arrest him. This was after years of complaints to the fuzz.

Doesn't take a genius to put that puzzle together. Hates Democrats. Trump supporter. Especially if they knew the calls were coming from Utah. And let's go ahead and get back to that whole, "if they knew" thingy while we're at it, shall we?
Lookie here! It Utah, he's not even a "Trump supporter," he's a Utahn "frustrated by Democrats, liberals" for "mistreating President Donald Trump."

OH! And in this Utah article, not only is he not identified as a Trump supporter, we find out the FBI has known about this fucking fascist boot-licking psycho for YEARS.
The complaint accuses Haven of calling in to congressional offices in Washington, D.C., hundreds of times over a year.
snip
The first threat was made to a senators office on May 17, 2018, the complaint states. The caller said he would like to slice [Senator 1]s head off and [Senator 2]s head, too, the complaint states, adding it was one of 32 times Haven called the Capitol Switchboard on that day. Two more threats were recorded, on Sept. 18 and Oct. 18, 2018, before FBI agents in Utah went to Havens house to talk to him on Nov. 13, 2018, the complaint states. <snip> He later told the agents his calls were just meaningless threats that were made out of frustrations, and told the agents he would stop calling Congress. He also told the agents he owned a .22 caliber firearm.
snip
On April 25, the complaint said, a threat was made to a fourth senator. Another representative got a threatening call May 15, in which the caller said he would use his 2nd Amendment Right to blow the head off the congressperson. Yet another representative got a threatening call on May 23. And the first senators office received a threatening call the seventh overall on May 28, which referred to a fifth senator and Kerry.

So, yeah. Just another psychotic white Trump supporter with a gun making graphic threats of murder and violence . . . Why bother this fine person? He's busy. He's got things to do.

(82,849 posts)I think we've all been there, right? You make a couple thousand harmless telephone calls, threatening some random violence, and the next thing you know the cops are all up in your grill! How is that even fair to poor misunderstood Mr. Haven?

(10,829 posts)friendly fellow. This is why words matter. If you incite the crazies, you shouldn't be surprised when they act . . . crazy, threaten to blow the joint up and/or punish perceived opponents trashed on a daily basis by the Squatter-in-Chief.
Trump might as well be drawing 'X's' on every Democratic member's back. His attacks are obscene! And so is this guy.

I hope they can lock his ass up, but he'll probably get kicked loose by a judge.
