History is the Great Teacher.

Read it, study it, learn it and you gain wisdom. I discovered this when I was young. I have learned so much about history, but not nearly enough. There is so much to learn.

One of the best things that history teaches you is, Don't do that.

The American people in general are history imbeciles. The Trump voters are a very good example. Have you ever brought up a historical fact to a Trump voter, I have, WOW!

If people would pay attention, learn history, a lot of the problems we face as a nation would fade away.

I brought up historical facts about immigration. It was like talking to a person who had their brain surgically removed.

1. the new deal extended the depression and fdr was a commie.
Something that should be studied and analyzed rather than taken at face value
2. the European fascists and Nazis were left wing
Superficial "analysis" based labels
3. the civil war was fought between conservative republicans and liberal democrats.
Another "label" analysis
4. the klu klux klan was a "democrat" militia from its founding until today.
Yet another "label" analysis
5. that slavery was good for the slaves.
If the analysis is based upon the premise from #7 below
6. genetics outweighs education in all matters.
The nature vs. nurture argument
7. "western civilization" (of some pre enlightenment form) is superior in every way.
Civilizations, for the most part, believe that "their" civilization is superior to others.
8. heterosexual white males are oppressed.
A superficial specific analysis might support this claim but it falls apart when the lens is pulled back

4. Do we have any historical parallels to the current Presidential Corruption?

Seems like corrupt republics would protect trump from any and all forces, including "facts" and "truth"?

Democracy is down for the count right now and it's disheartening how serious this all is.

But I guess if "climate change is off the table" for Democrats, we're all doomed anyway.

We will go from "The Greatest Generation" to "The Last Generation"

10. I can only think of one, right off hand.

The Grant administration was jaw-droppingly corrupt, but Grant himself was not a party to the corruption. He was an honest man, way out of his depth in a world of crooks. They noticed his naivete and exploited him.
