a local helicopter crash in NYC for example
There had no video on the thing for an hour then all they had was smokey rooftop in the rainy distance
Clearly not terrorism, which is the legit excuse for the first 15 minutes of live coverage.
Rainy shots of 1st responders on the ground. That's all they have for visuals.
They cut away from a helicopter crash in NYC faster that happened just last month!
One crashed on a pier in NYC in May, recall that?
This is a local NY story, and has been for a long time.
This just shows that cable news hates covering hearings.
They see them as a ratings killer and will do everything to hinder the full story of Trump's corruption being told to the public.
It's not their job.
They sells car and beer ads to make money.

This is not being covered up or quashed.
People need to calm down.

(24,229 posts)So to correct your inaccurate statement:
Millions of people are sitting around with cable news on in the middle of the day, including public spaces like restaurants, airports, my local Jiffy Lube, and many more where public exposure to the programming cannot be measured with conventional metrics.
I'm not saying it is covered up, rather that they would not like this to interfere with their current business model of not calling a liar and crook a liar and crook.
They've been doing it for 3 years and keep bending over backwards to avoid it.
People to understand how messaging and a national narrative work in winning elections.

And if they can't watch it live, they'll have plenty of other chances to see it later since the networks aren't censoring the hearing or keeping it secret, but have full access and have made an editorial judgment not to show it live in order to cover another story it deems important.
The networks are interesting in ratings. It's rather odd, considering how MSNBC, in particular, has been talking about little else other than Trump and has been hammering away at pressuring Democrats to impeach, for anyone to suddenly infer that MSNBC's decision to cover a helicopter crash in Manhattan rather than go live to a hearing - a hearing that plenty of impeachment proponents predicted would be a big nothingburger and that will likely be broadcast, discussed, and analyzed ad nauseum tonight and the next several days - is the result of some nefarious plot to keep Trump from looking bad.

(24,229 posts)not what I said and this is about the cable news business model
Thanks for incorrectly projecting your talking point again and again, over and over though.
