The Navy did not immediately respond to a request for comment about Priebus's swearing in, but the longtime political insider is expected to serve as a human resources officer.

The Washington Post first reported in December that Priebus had applied to join the Navy as a reserve officer. He underwent a months-long process that included a recommendation from then-Defense Secretary James Mattis.

Note: Pence swore him in.

I stick by my conspiracy theory that Russia got the goods on Reince when they hacked the Republicans. That's why Snotty Walker (who probably had all sorts of correspondence with Reince) dropped out so quickly and cleared the path for Trump.

We are going to have to watch this closely. If we start to see political appointments to major military commands, we need to be very afraid of Trump's post-2020 election plans should he lose.
